Special Notice

We got to know that some unauthorised groups try to collect money illegally for the proposed external convocation on 25th April 2024 to be held at the Mahinda Rajapaksha Auditorium, Polgolla. We do not have any appointed individuals to do such things. The following are the legally approved expenses that the students have to pay to the CDCE and not to any other place or individual.
1. Convocation fee
2. Photography fee
3. Transcript fee
Therefore, do not pay any money to anybody toward external convocation activities.

2024 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் மாதம் 25 ஆம் திகதி பொல்கொல்ல மஹிந்த ராஜபக்ஷ கேட்போர் கூடத்தில் நடைபெறவூள்ள வெளிவாரி மாணவர்களுக்கான பட்டமளிப்பு (Convocation) விழாவிற்காக சில அங்கீகரிக்கப்படாத குழுக்கள் சட்டவிரோதமான முறையில் பணம் சேகரிக்க முயல்வதாக தொடர் தொலைக்கல்வி நிலையத்திற்கு தெரியவந்துள்ளது.
பின்வருபவை, பட்டதாரிகள் CDCE க்கு சட்டப்பூர்வமாக செலுத்தவேண்டிய அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட கட்டணங்கள் ஆகும்.
1. பட்டமளிப்பு கட்டணம்
(பட்டச் சான்றிதழ், பட்ட அங்கி மற்றும் பட்டமாலை உள்ளடங்கலாக 10,000/= மட்டுமே)
2. புகைப்படக் கட்டணம்
3. விரிவான சான்றிதழுக்கான கட்டணம் (Academic Transcript)
எனவே தொடர் தொலைக்கல்வி நிலைய கணக்கிலக்கமான 057-1-001-4-1338036 இலக்கம் தவிர்ந்த ஏனையவற்றுக்கு கட்டணங்கள் செலுத்துவதை தவிர்த்துக்கொள்ளவூம்.

The External Convocation 2019-2020 of the University of Peradeniya

The Centre for Distance and Continuing Education (CDCE) of the University of Peradeniya held its 2019-2022 convocation for external graduands at the Mahinda Rajapaksha Auditorium of the National Cooperative Development Institute, Polgolla, on 12th December 2022. This was the eleventh convocation that the CDCE organized for its external graduands. This year 505 and 69 graduands have conferred the Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Business Administration Degrees respectively. Professor GH. Peiris, the Chancellor of the University, Professor MD. Lamawansha, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor TWM. Madhujith, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University and the Deans, the Director of CDCE and all the Administrative Officers of the University of Peradeniya and all other invitees graced this graduation ceremony.

MOU Signing between the University of Peradeniya and World Vision Lanka

The Centre for Distance and Continuing Education entered into a memorandum of understanding between the University of Peradeniya and World Vision Lanka to help the youth in the Walapane area to provide training in Computer and Electronics on 30 th Sep 2022. The acting Vice-Chancellor, professor Athula Ekanayake, Director CDCE Professor Abey Rathnayake, Dean Faculty of Science, Professor Sanath Rajapaksha, Professor Authula Perera,Mr. Prabath Gunathilake from the University of Peradeniye and Mr. Shiron Perara and Mr. Anthony Lawarance participated from World Vision Lanka in the ceremony.

The Centre for Distance and Continuing Education of the University of Peradeniya, Conducted a Diploma and Certificate awarding Ceremony for Diploma in Management and Development and Advanced Certificate Course in Laboratory Handling on 3 rd November 2022 at the Centre for Distance and Continuing Education. The Centre awarded Diploma and Certificate to 66 students who completed the respective academic programmes.

Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Women Child Development Affairs - 2022

The Center for Distance and Continuing Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Women Child Development Affairs of the Government of Sri Lanka on 29th August 2022 and this enables the students who follow the Diploma Programme in Early Childhood Care and Development to receive financial assistance to complete their academic programme.

Assumption of the Duties of the New Director, CDCE

The University of Peradeniya appointed Dr. Rathnayake M. Abeyrathne the new Director of the Centre for Distance and Continuing Education. While adhering to Covid 19 health guidelines, he assumed duties in his post on the 4th of August 2021. He is a Senior Lecturer and a Medical Anthropologist and former Head of the Department of Sociology, University of Peradeniya. At the brief meeting, he mentioned that the vision for the Center during his tenure is to develop it as one of the Centers of excellence in Distance and Continuous Education in the country.
