In fulfilling a long felt need the CDCE initiated the BBA online syllabus revision process with support from the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) in New Delhi, India. The inaugural ceremony of the capacity building workshop was held on 23 rd March 2018. at 6:30 p.m. followed by a fellowship dinner at the Oak Ray Regengy, Kandy. Prof. Upul B. Dissanayake, the Vice-Chancellor, University of Peradeniya participated as the chief guest of the ceremony. Prof. Karunesh Saxena, the Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Prof. Mallika Pinnawala, the Director, CDCE; Dr. S. Maheswaran, the Representative for the Dean of the Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya; Prof. Terrence Madhujith, Project Coordinator; and Dr. W. D. Chandrasena, the Deputy Director, Learning Resources, CDCE also participated in the ceremony . The function was also graced by: Prof. Saluka Kodituwakku, the Dean of the Faculty of Science of the University of Peradeniya; Prof. A. Pitawala, the Director, Postgraduate Institute of Science of the University of Peradeniya; Prof. A. R. Ariyaratne, Retired Professor of the Faculty of Agriculture; Dr. Jayalath Edirisinghe, one of Former Directors of the CDCE, Dr. P. W. S. K. Bandaranayake, the Chairperson of the Board of Study/Science of the CDCE; Dr. Sanath Wijesundera, the Chairperson of the Board of Study/Humanities and Social Sciences of the CDCE; Ms. Malini Ranasinghe, Senior Lecturer of Faculty of Management, Ms. V. Jeyakumar, the Chairperson of the Board of Study/Management of the CDCE; Ms. Heshani Wijetunga, the Academic Coordinator of the BBA Online Programme , Mr. Maheshwaran, the Librarian, University of Peradeniya and many academic staff members from the Faculty of Management of University of Peradeniya as participants of the workshop. In addition Mr. Saman Rajapakse, the Deputy Registrar of the CDCE; Ms. Nilanjani Rajapakse, the Assistant Registrar of the CDCE; Ms. Virangya Senevirathne and other supporting staff members of the CDCE, Mr. G.K Godamunna Public Relation Officerer, and Mr. Kapila Bandara , Web Master ,University of Perdeniya also attended the event.

The main workshop was held from 24 th to 27 th March, 2018 in the Board Room of the Postgraduate Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (PGIHS) of the University of Peradeniya with the sessions needing online access were held in its Computer Lab. A few sessions were also held in the Studio of the Department of Agricultural Extension of the Faculty of Agriculture. The introductory session of the workshop was conducted by Dr. WD Chandrasena, Deputy Director, Learning Resource of CDCE .The resource persons of the workshop included: Prof. Karunesh Saxena, CEMCA Expert; Dr. M. Alfred, the Dean Faculty of Management; Ms. Malani Ranasinghe and Dr. S. Maheshwaran, Senior Lecturers of the Faculty of Management; Prof. A. R. Ariyaratne, Retired Professor, Faculty of Agriculture; and Ms. Iroshini Ratnapala, Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering. The workshop schedule included sessions on syllabus revision process, online content development, media integration, motivation, and Moodle training. The participants were awarded certificates and were highly appreciative of the workshop.
